Taking Yourself Out to the Theater

ticketIf you do decide to see only one Broadway show this year, do yourself a favor and make every effort to get Book Of Mormon tickets. The fact that it is red hot on Broadway right now might make it a bit difficult to find tickets; but if you do manage, take yourself to the theater and give it a shot.

What’s In A Name?

Don’t be put off by the name of the show; this is a musical that uses rather off color humor to get its point across. Tunes like ‘Spooky Mormon Hell Dreams’, ‘Turn It Off’ and ‘Man Up’ will be hard to shake from your head even days after seeing this Broadway musical. The offensive humor of which I speak is much on the same lines as a show from Comedy Central called South Park. No one should take offense because everyone is offended.

They’re Not Laughing At You; They’re Laughing With You

No actually… There laughing at you; and so will you. As long as you can appreciate the juvenile humor from which no one or topic is safe, you will laugh out loud. There are catchy tunes, a very talented cast, it’s superbly orchestrated and definitely worthy of a standing ovation; Book Of Mormon makes you, your neighbor and everyone else on the planet the butt of one huge joke. Kids and grandmothers should probably steer clear, unless grandma is a big South Park fan.
